Description
This work is a version of my wedding, celebrated together with my parents and friends in February 2025 in Osnabrück. In this painting, all characters are represented as birds. My wife is a hummingbird because it is her favorite bird. I am a "Huiracchuro", a bird that eats mainly fruit from orchards and is typical of the region of Ecuador where I grew up. My father-in-law is a seagull in memory of his time as a sailor in Hamburg. My mother-in-law is a very elegant vermilion flycatcher wearing a pearl dress. My mother, dressed in a yellow dress, is a sparrow very excited because of the special moment. Near my mother is my sister-in-law wearing a green dress, who also prepared the cake and snacks for our celebration. My father is an elegant hoatzin (Opisthocomus hoazin) wearing a green plaid suit, chatting with a mother bird and her young son. My best friend is the photographer parrot riding a bicycle. Other friends who were with us were Mrs. Crow and Mr. Woodpecker. The couple is accompanied by a group of other birds carrying balloons and looking happy. In the background, a flowering magnolia is the tree that was near the Felix Nussbaum Museum. Finally, a stork is staring intently at the celebration, bringing a future surprise.. My wedding was an unforgettable day that will be remembered all my life; this work remains as a reminder of that beautiful day.
