Description
Every year at Christmas I paint something related to this celebration, which is one of my favorites seasons of the year. Normally, the representative Christmas trees worldwide are European fir trees. In this painting, the Christmas tree is a ficus or rubber tree, typical of tropical regions. This tree is in the middle of a very dense jungle that emits a light that attracts butterflies. Among the decorations on the tree are the typical light bulbs, a traditional nutcracker, a boot, an angel, a clown and a fairy, made of wood. The decoration also has Andean figures such as a llama, a guinea pig, a woman in indigenous clothing with a baby, an avocado, a "Diablo Huma" mask from Ecuador, toucans and an orange, my favorite fruit. There are also representative figures of Hamburg, such as a lighthouse and a ship, a city that I have a special affection for. At the base, a cat is playing with a small star. This is my last painting of the year 2024, I hope you all had a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2025 to every one of you.
