Description
This work is a modified version of fairy tales by the German illustrator Erich Heinemann with some animals from the Andes. The scene illustrates a celebration between forest creatures enjoying a sunny day in a beer garden. At the table drinks have been ordered for everyone: the colobri, a fairy, a guinea pig, a raccoon and a hedgehog, while the bartender is a possum and the waiter a squirrel. Mr. Frog cannot drink alcohol and only drinks tea, the green beetle and the butterfly should not drink, but they want some too. Heinemman's works were an inspiration for the development of fantastic stories in the 1950s and today they are a classic that inspires my work as well.
