Description
This work represents my PhD research summarized in a painting. My project was related to the establishment of a method to propagate rose cuttings using laser technology. The idea of the laser treatment was to create wounds in the stem to stimulate the growth of vascular tissue and subsequent adventitious rooting. In the painting a team of garden gnomes work to monitor the growth of a rose. While one dwarf makes small wounds with the laser, another monitors the treatment with a microscope and another has morphological diagrams of the rose stem. A gnome is at the top to perform a biochemical analysis with liquid nitrogen, representing other aspect of my research in Hannover. With this work, I conclude one of the most enriching stages of my professional life, and begin my life as a researcher.
