Description

This painting is inspired by my daughter's first visit to my hometown in Ecuador. Among the elements in the painting is a mariachi band, representing the serenade prepared for her upon her arrival at my parents' house. The women, man, and children represent my family members who bring gifts such as flowers, fruit, and food as a symbol of joy and welcome to the little guest. Finally, in the background, my parents' house, the orchards, and the town's church are painted. The small dog is "Chacala," the pet who has lived at home for years.
