Description
For Christmas, I decided to paint this "Weihnachtspyramide" (Christmas pyramid), a traditional German Christmas decoration. The pyramid consists of a small, stepped wooden tower shaped like a carousel. The structure is decorated with Christmas symbols and is powered by the warmth of red candles. The tower has three levels; at the base is the Nativity scene. The baby's parents resemble my wife and me with our baby. Among the animals in the Nativity scene are a llama and a cow. The second level depicts the Three Wise Men, and the third level features a choir of angels. Finally, a decorated Christmas tree was painted as background. The "Weihnachtspyramide" is a beautiful handcrafted tradition that combines simple engineering, wood carving artistry, and the warm, welcoming spirit (Gemütlichkeit) of German Christmas.
